How To Select The Best Bird Cage For Your Pet Bird

As a pet owner you only want the best for your pet.  Not only do you want him to be healthy but also to be happy and love you as his master.  Providing him with just any bird cage is not enough, you have to give him only the best.  The best bird cage would mean something wherein your pet bird will be comfortable in.  Therefore, for a large bird you will also need a large cage and you must provide a smaller cage if your pet is small.  Following are some tips in choosing the best bird cage.

You cannot provide him with the right bird cage if you don’t go out and look for it in pet stores.  Look at five cages at least and compare them.

Try to see their features and whenever you see that a certain cage has some faults then move on to the others.  You will eventually find the best of them after a while. In comparing bird cages’ features, you will have to look at every parts of the bird cage.  Determine what types of material are used for it. Don’t choose a bird cage that have seen better days or if it is already old.

The materials used for bird cages that were made before were toxic.  Since birds like to chew on things, even if the bird cage has been repainted, after a while of being chewed on, the original material will be exposed.  The best bird cage to buy would be one that is made of steel.  Aside from being very easy to clean, they are very presentable.

You must also choose a bird cage with bars that are spaced closer together rather than a bird cage that has wide spaced bars.  If they are spaced widely, there is a tendency that your pet bird will try to get out of it and get his head stuck.  But then the bars should not be made too close together as to hinder air from getting inside because it will harm your pet. Bird cages should also be wide enough for the bird to be able to move around freely.  He should be able to spread his wings because this is one way for him to exercise.  This is important if you want your pet bird to be healthy and happy.

You should also consider the price of the bird cage and it is better if you have a specific amount that you are willing to spend on it.
